About Valéria dos Santos Costa
Valéria has a degree in Business Accounting. She moved to Ottawa five years ago from São Paulo, Brazil. There, she was a successful financial manager. Notwithstanding her success in banking, Valéria sensed she wasn't on the right professional path; she was drawn to health care. Shortly after moving to Ottawa, she booked her first massage therapy treatment. That's when she knew what she was meant to do. Valéria completed the massage therapy program at The International Academy of Massage and is now a Registered Massage Therapist.
Valéria carefully considers the needs of each client and designs unique treatments that blend together Swedish massage, deep tissue therapy, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, PNF stretching, manual lymph drainage and joint-play. She is passionate about helping her clients restore pain-free range of motion, reduce muscle soreness, rehabilitate injuries, reduce stress, and increase relaxation.

About Therapeutic Effects
Massage helps relieve pain, decrease swelling, increase circulation, decrease muscle tightness, increase joint range of motion, promote relaxation and increase an overall sense of well being. At Therapeutic Effects, our treatment of soft tissue dysfunction is based on a holistic approach. Although treatments are focused primarily on your areas of discomfort, we aim to seek and treat the source of discomfort. Restoring your health and well being to ideal health conditions through customized remedial exercises and massages is our practice; your health can improve with rehabilitative and maintenance massage treatments. We use top quality oils and lotions to nourish your skin and provide you with the most pleasant massage experience possible.
At Therapeutic Effects we only use Canadian beeswax candles in the room as opposed to paraffin wax candles. Beeswax candles emit negative ions while burning. Negative ions create healthy air by neutralizing air allergens and dust. We offer a selection of music to choose from including spa sounds and easy listening, but bring along your iPod to play your own favorites. Our docking station will also offer your iPod a fresh charge while you recharge.
We look forward to treating you soon!
